After picking up Bob Skilnik’s book, Does My BUTT Look BIG In This BEER?, for the first time, I was a bit weary as to whether this book is supposed to be a satirical writing, comical or useful overall. I found this book to be not just useful, but VERY useful for many reasons which I will quickly go through for you.
First, this book basically covers over 2,000 different beers and not just the calorie count and ABV, but also the amount of carbohydrates found in the actual beers and even the Weight Watchers POINTS ® for those on Weight Watcher diet plans who want to drink beer.
This information is presented in a very thorough manner and he does not attempt to sell other products and services by other authors or companies. He just lists all of the stats on nutritional values of the beers.
Now as for the beers listed, I have to commend the guy as he has a pretty impressive list. There are indeed some beers not listed such as rarer beers like Schlenkerla Rauchbier and the Stone brewing company products, but this is only the start of a great series, I believe, and will continue to grow as more folks like yourself discover such a wealth of information.
I have seen Bob Skilnik on several broadcasts on Fox as well as ABC’s “The View”. And, to be honest, to get on those high level broadcasts, you have to have something important to say.
I honestly don’t know how Bob gathered such hard-to-get nutritional information on beers, many of which are craft beers such as Sierra Nevada and Rogue breweries’ beers, but it’s impressive. He even has BJ’s Restaurant & Brewery beers and Schlafly (a local brewery out of St. Louis, MO) listed in this book.
Overall, I give major kudos to Bob Skilnik and his book, Does My BUTT Look BIG In This BEER?, and look forward to his many other publications as they become available to the public.
For the price his publisher is asking, both available in paperback and .pdf, I think this is a really great book to have around in order to thumb through most of your favorite beers and gather more knowledge on what exactly you are putting into your body when enjoying your next beer.
